Meet Wilder
on-site landscape consultations & plant layout guidance
I’m Kaitlin, a Landscape Design Consultant & Native Plant Advisor.
Most landscape services either maintain what’s there or redesign and reinstall everything. I work in the space between, walking your yard with you to find the small changes that make a big difference, so you can move forward with confidence.
I recommend Florida native plants, but I won’t ask you to rip out plants you love just because they aren’t native. And since I don’t sell plants or install anything, my advice is only ever about what’s right for you and your yard.
Where every Wilder path begins
Yard Strategy Session
A strategy consultation to give you clarity and momentum: you’ll understand the yard you have and know how to move toward the one you want, within the time, money, and energy you want to spend.
We walk your yard together (75-90 minutes, on site) looking at the whole picture (sun, soil, water, and what’s already thriving) to sort out what’s working, what isn’t, and what to do first.
You get a short written Yard Strategy Report within two business days: what we saw, what we decided, your next steps, a starter list of up to 5 native plants suited to your yard, and helpful resources.
$250 investment includes the visit, report, and starter plant list.
Not sure it’s the right fit? Book a free 15-minute Discovery Call.
Already had a Yard Strategy Session? Check out the Services page for how I can help with planting design, follow-up support, and complex or in-motion projects.

Real clients, real solutions
Meet Kaitlin
trained in design, rooted in St. Pete
I’ve been designing landscapes since 2013, from teaching farmers to plan resilient orchards while serving in the Peace Corps, to earning an AS in Environmental Horticulture and Design, to nearly a decade learning beside an award-winning landscape architect in Silicon Valley.
In Crescent Lake, where I’ve lived since 2016, I transformed my own yard from sheared hedges into an oasis abuzz with life.
Quick questions & answers
-
Let’s talk! Schedule a free 15-minute Discovery Call and we’ll figure out if Wilder’s a fit.
If I’m not the right person, I’ll tell you and point you toward someone who is.
-
Only if you want to! I’m a big fan of building on what you have, and most people need a few smart tweaks, not a major overhaul.
We can start with one burning corner or the whole yard, whatever you’re excited to tackle.
-
Absolutely not! You keep the plants you love, and I recommend natives that fit with what’s already in your yard.
(The one exception: I almost always recommend removing invasive exotics, and I’ll point them out if I see them.)
-
I’d love to! At your Yard Strategy Session, I’ll suggest plants and send you a starter list of natives that suit your yard.
If you want to know exactly what to plant where, Plant Flagging is the next step: I set a flag for every plant in your yard, showing how many, how far apart, and what goes beside what, so you can see the whole planting at full size before you buy a thing.
(Prefer a planting plan on paper? Just ask. I can sometimes do that for the right project.)
-
Typically you or your gardener. I don’t install or sell plants, which is part of what keeps my advice independent.
If you’d rather hire a pro, I can connect you with installers I trust, and you’d hire them directly.
-
The Session is just the beginning! Yards evolve over time, and so do your questions, so Wilder’s services are designed to support you along the way.
Whenever you have a need, you can book more help: Plant Flagging when you’re ready to map out which plants go where, Follow-Up Calls or Visits for questions as they come up, or Project Support when something more complex is underway. You can book what you need, when you need it.
-
Not at all! Native plants can fit any style: a colorful cottage garden for a bungalow; clean, repeating plantings for a midcentury modern; or tidy layered plantings for a ranch. The look comes from how the plants are arranged and cared for, not from whether they’re native.
Wild is a choice, not a requirement.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before we meet. That’s what I’m here for!
